Blandy les Tours

Panorama 1 of 1

Blandy les Tours, a fortified castle near Melun, France, is beautifully restored on the outside, but not so impressive when peeking inside the walls.

    Stephen-

In this shot, you can’t really see me. I am either behind the castle or in it’s shadow (I can’t tell for certain), across from the church.

    Waaaaaaow !

I have worked in Blandy les tours some years ago to cover the cylindrical towers with photos in order to generate very accurate cylindrical orthophotos of the inside elevations. I’ve used an old Minolta X300 and a self made radio command done with piece of toys (See http://atm3d.free.fr//html/blandy1.htm and http://atm3d.free.fr//html/blandy2.htm - see also outside cylindrical surface : http://atm3d.free.fr//html/mons.htm)

I usually work on archeological site as a surveyor, and i use now a Canon EOS 1 Ds pro Mark II to generate orthophotos with high resolution images taken from a 5m high pole.

I’m looking at Kite aerial photography for several years now but i can’t find the time to finish all the piece of systems i’ve begun to build…

Your photos is what i’m dreaming to do !
    Thank you.

PS : I’m also involved in geology studies and i’ve met Thomas Dewez few months ago for 3D scanning of french cliffs… I remember now he told me about you.
