    DUDE! Those pics are tight! Thanks for sending them to me. I have wallpapered that first bird’s eye view circular shot of Point Bonita. This is Tim, the really tall PB docent that was watching you all fly that kite out on the lighthouse side. I’m sure you remember. Those pics are great. I am sending them on to my friends across the country. It’s really neat to see that area from a different angle, lens, everything. Very cool. I hope that the guys at the visitor center save some of those photos. Great stuff. Thanks again for sending them, and come out again! Tim

Anyway, I came, I saw, I asked if you were a pro photographer and they said that you didn’t feel your work was good enough.     Scott-You are so talented and really have a gift! You sell yourself short and you are amazing at taking goreous pictures. I think you should try to get these kite pictures into a gallery somewhere. You are an artists and should be sharing this with others(besides friends and family) who would appreciate and LOVE your talent also! I’m not just saying this because you’re my “other” brother-you have something special and it’s SO incredible! Thanks for sharing with us, I feel priviledged to get to see your work.     Hi there from the Ozarks. My sister and brother-in-law just sent me your website to see and it is fantastic.     Wonderful pictures and nice rig. I use a simple pendulum for hanging my digital camera. The picavet system looks too complicated. Is it worth switching? Looks like California is the place to be for KAP. Shame Redlands doesn’t have the same thrilling locations as Santa Cruz.

    this is the best, ever. i’ve been flying kites for years and toyed with the “camera up there” idea but i didn’t want to see my SLR smashed to bits on the rocks. the shots are phenomenal and i’m going to persue this idea again. thanks, h.

    My mother grew up in this town of Deauville, I personally havent visited in a few years. Looking at the pics touched me and gave me a tearful moment of retuening and remembering.

    I really enjoyed your photos. I enjoyed so much I decided to try that my self. As I live in a extremely windy city (Istanbul) Lifting a heavy dSLR might not be a problem. D70s or a D300 with a ultra wide angle or a 10.5mm fisheye lens.

    As for Syed Yasir Ahmed’s question. If you add the GPS to the kite and sync the clock in both the camera and the GPS then you can later GeoTag the photos with the GPX info from the GPS. The GPS does save the altitude information. In addition by using Nikon D200, D300 cameras you can connect the much smaller, lighter Sirf Star III gps to the camera and each time it shoots a photo also adds the GPS info to the EXIF of the photo.

    These photos are phenomenal! I have just sort of gotten into photography and I really love it in general. But these photos really opened up a whole new way of viewing things. I think the aerial perspective enhances the beauty in all the things that were shot, because I think if those things were shot from the ground they would be so much less impactual than the shots taken from the air. Well done, this is a fantastic art form and I think you have inspired me to try this beautiful way of capturing photos. Ps. These photos should be put in a gallery, trust me they are worth it.
