Sand dunes on the edge of Pyramid Lake, the largest remnant of Lake Lahontan, a giant inland sea that once covered 8,000 square miles. Today, portions of the lake are within the Paiute Tribe Reservation, but evidence uncovered by archaeologists suggests the lake was home to cultures that existed 9000 years ago.
