Daylight seeping into the upper floor of tattered male wing at Hudson River State Hospital, which overlooks the Hudson River.
The Admin Building and attached male / female wings, built according to the Kirkbride Plan, were constructed between 1868–1871. They have sat vacant since 2003, falling into a state of disrepair due to neglect and several fires.
The surrounding landscape was designed by Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmstead of New York’s Central Park fame.
