The Oceanic Independence, an abandoned cruise ship berthed in the dry docks at the former Bethlehem Steel shipyard in San Francisco. The ship was a casualty of September 11th, when ship owner American Classic Voyages declared bankruptcy following decreased bookings after the attacks.

Since making it’s final cruise in Hawai’i in October 2001, the Indy has sat unused for the past 6 years at various locations in the San Francisco bay area, including the mothball fleet in Suisun Bay, Mare Island, and most recently in downtown SF.
