Carved by Glaciers
Photo 107 of 647

El Capitan, a granite monolith rising 3,000-foot (910 m) from the glacially-carved valley floor, is one of the world’s favorite challenges for rock climbers. While taking this photo, I saw climbers lights 3/4 of the way up the sheer cliff face. The lights are clearly visible in the full-size photo.
5.5-minute exposure, lit by the full moon.
