Spiral Jetty by Robert Smithson, an earthwork made of basalt rocks and earth found on-site in 1970. The coil, which extends from the shore, is 15-feet wide and 1500-feet long.
The pinkish hue is caused by salt-loving bacteria that thrive in the extremely salty water, which is up to 8 times greater than the salinity of seawater.
