Books are Burning

Mural of famous jazz musicians, political figures, and writers nestled on the boundary of Chinatown and North Beach. I noticed the books flashing while we were hanging out in a beatnik bookstore at twilight. They lit up in an alternating fashion, ultimately “settling down” in a resting state, allowing me to snap this shot with all of them illuminated.
