The inside of an abandoned Atlas E complex, where the nuke was stored on its belly. In preparation to launch, the sliding roof retracted and the missile was rotated 90-degrees on its crib structure.

The Air Force established 27 Atlas E missile sites (3 squadrons of nine missile sites each in Kansas, Wyoming, and Washington) along with two test sites at Vandenberg AFB.
