The beautiful Wairarapa Coastline north of Wellington is relatively inaccessible from the main road, making it a popular destination for kiwi holiday makers. Like other places in NZ that are off the beaten path, I got the sense that it had it’s heyday back in the 70s and 80s when caravaning was popular.
