Recovered wetlands area adjacent to salt ponds still under Cargill’s control. Recently, Cargill sold 16,500 acres of salt ponds to state and federal governments for $100 million, marking the beginning of a 20-year effort to restore San Francisco Bay Wetlands to a more natural state.
