About 40 dwellings, partitioned by stone walls into separate living areas, line the broch. Each contained a hearth, stone furniture, and a toilet. In addition, the village was surrounded by a series of ramparts and ditches for defense.

Although the broch is only half visible, the horizontal centering and the perspctive make this a very interesting and dynamic shot.
